| There are several things everyone needs to know before these games are started. - When Posting:
When a GM or Admin was the last person to post in your thread, and it is not locked, it is either your turn to post or a party member's. If the last poster in the thread literally says "Game Master," then wait until an actual GM or Admin posts. Because they're probably doing math.
- PvP:
When you make a new thread, you have the option to change the title color. Yellow denotes PvP! You are effectively challenging another player to battle! The winner IS allowed to kill your character should they so wish, unless you've worked this out befoerehand.
- Thread Making:
Typically, players title their thread in accordance with the rules listed in the stickied thread at the top of the forum they're posting in to denote location. The first post must list all party members' USERNAMES in the first line of the text body. It is highly recommended that each party settle on a rotation, or posting order. Once Each party member has posted at least once, a GM or Admin will roll Encounter Dice (Depending on where you are) and you may or may not have a battle on your hands.
- Battle Flow:
Flow of Battle:
- NOTE: GM/Admins do the majority of dice rolling, outside of PvP.
- Battle is played in three phases. The first is called Action Phase. Simply, the player writes their actions out in a post, and lists any skills they're trying to use. NOTE: a GM or Admin may pm a player to discuss the omission or addition of a stat or Dice penalty. GM/Admin have final say.
- Then the Dice is rolled by a GM/Admin. The GM rolls in the order which they've listed the applicable stats for the situation. In PvP, for each different stat, the players must use the "+" icon as a means of separating the different stat-dice rolls. The number next to the D on the character sheet goes in the box with the "1" already inside.
- Then, there is the Retaliation Phase. Meaning the enemy has a chance to dodge your attack. If they roll higher than your own roll, then they dodge. If their roll is lower and within 2 points of the opponent's roll, the hit becomes weaker. If the stronger player was aiming for a vital spot, it just barely misses, but still hits the opponent's body. At this point, DEF is rolled (The DEF stat varies from RP to RP). If the player has a higher DEF roll than the offensive player's roll, the hit does less damage. Keep in mind, In certain situations, the opponent won't have enough dice to avoid. In this case, go straight to the DEF roll. If the weaker player gets all 1's, the opponent wins. Instantly.
- Then comes the enemy's Action Phase. Battle tends to go back and forth like this until someone dies or stops the fight.
NOTES:
Dodging: When a player or enemy is the one ATTACKING, roll their STR. When a player or enemy is DODGING, roll DEX. This is generally how it should work during battle. DEX =/= Accuracy.
- [NOT APPLIED FOR PvP!]If the STR roll is double or more the value of the opposing DEX roll, there is no need to roll for DEF. Vice versa, if the DEX roll is double or more the value of the STR roll, the one rolling DEX gets in a free hit. This can really make you or break you in a battle.
- Rewards:
When you finish a non-PvP battle, you receive rewards. The way this works is pretty simple and facilitated by a GM/Admin (Like everything else). They roll a dice labeled [??] Reward Dice, which has a set number of rewards on it. The rewards are distributed, one each, in the order that the party members were listed in the first post. So first listed player gets the first reward on the left, second listed gets the reward second from the left, etc. It'll be automatically added to your character / account anyway. Certain things are allowed to be traded, if your character sheet has inventory slots open.
- The Dice Machine:
The rolls are performed by an automated forum-bot named Game Master. It isn't biased against you or anything like that. I promise.
- Who Rolls What:
Rolling dice: Unless you're a GM or Admin, you'll probably only be using Standard Dice. Don't worry too much about the other ones listed. If you need help with the dice system, let a staff member know.
